Herc it was the 18-200VR that I use almost exclusively.
Usually I'm unhappy at 200mm with my results but the lion came out really sharp. I was underexposed but managed to recover it as the original was a raw. The rest of the lions head was in the original but got really contrasty as the fence started to obscure the light path.

Todays pic from the archives. Taken during a walk around my local lake.
How do you all calibrate your monitors, I'm not sure I've done it right all my shots look OE.

Another wakeboarding shot of mine. I don't like it quite as much as the last one I posted, but I'm still pretty happy witht the way it turned out. C&C welcome!

I'd try a tighter crop. Also have you tried a slightly slower shutter speed? If not, I'd try a few just to see if the water wouldn't look as "frozen" as long as the wakeboarder can still remain in focus.

I prefer the "frozen" look, I feel it makes the shot timeless, both literally and figuratively.. just my 2 cents. nice shot!
I put a semi-thick border, because when I print it tomorrow, it will be 43 inches long and only 6.5 inches tall...so the border gives it a little more height!

I was suggested a tighter crop by a few people on flickr, and I do agree it could look better with it. I can't really do a slower shutter speed because these guys are too fast and it will result in motion blur.
