Rooz, brilliant shot. I don't think it's a failed attempt at all. Personally, I would print it big and frame it !!

Delobbo, nice image. Great composition and good use of tonemapping.

Rooz, I have to agree, it's a great shot. I know the feeling though, you see an incredible subject, you know "the" image is there somewhere, but you can't seem to find it
But I still say that one is great.

thx for looking - correct, it is not an HDR, just some fill, highlight, shadow, and general curve adjustment to give it that look.

It's been awhile. I lurk a lot. A LOT. But I don't seem to edit my photos often enough. I'm learning a lot from y'all though.

btuner, great shot. I'm still learning night shots, and am curious why you chose f/22 for that pic?

VR, if I may answer for B, it's because the small aperture creates the "starry" effect in the lights. It also enables the long shutter speed to get those streaky lights in the ... ship? (B, hope I was right, if not please correct)

I did remarkably little PP on this shot. The trees really were these colors. Beautiful in bloom. I used my 1.2 ND grad on the sky. I probably didn't need the small aperture here though. I was experimenting with the DOF aspect, and so far I have not noticed any "diffraction" in the shots. I spent an hour taking pictures at this spot :P
