    Gee some great work here!

A bit late in noticing and posting but, Tori I really liked your photo from your bike ride in the afternoon and agree with Prospero's & Lukas's comments, re composition/cropping & PP editing, but its a great photo to begin with (in the original crop!). Looks like you're enjoying Spring's arrival, combining two of your fav' hobbies, i.e. photography & cycling!

JerBear, I really liked the goat/kid shot too!

Twism, your selective colour photo recently is also very striking.

    cheers,

    Benjamin

Thanks, Benjamin. I'm surprised at the positive attention that shot is getting. I'm liking it more and more It was just a spur of the moment thing, I was riding and thought, ok HERE's my shot. Actually had to finish the ride, get the camera from the truck, and ride just a little ways back to take the pic It's the only place I took a picture.

The "snow" kept forcing me to look for light at the end of the tunnel. Then I had to put a jacket on to keep looking at that photo since it's already in the 90Fs here. However, I may be back in snow country by summer's end though not back in Wyoming, but in Lake Tahoe/Reno--already thinking about getting some "green" and "white" photos, since it's mostly "brown" here unless it is a golf course and/or at night....

Nic pic Tori. Like the lines. And personally, I prefer the "longer" photo instead of the "square crop" since it draws my attention in farther and for a longer period of time since I was also checking out the mountains. Ok, I'm weird, but the sky could probably be darkened slightly using the shadows/highlight feature in something like Photoshop (not to be confused with brightness/contrast) instead of cropped off. Besides something like the "rule of thirds" can be broken, can't it? I would think so, especially with leading lines.

Thanks, TNB. Wow, 90, I won't see that till August I bet! Yep, I think I've decided on the original, uncropped version. Thanks for your suggestion with the sky, I'll try it out.

I would also compare the uncropped version to a 12x8 cropped ratio version with just enough crop to crop out the pole on the right-hand side. Although the 12x8 crop ratio would remove some of the sky, it would still remove the pole (which is sort of distracting to me since part of the pole leads to the right, out of the photo) and still leave more of the original than a 10x8 crop. I also believe the 12x8 crop ratio (starting from the lower left hand corner and working up) would look better than that 10x8 crop from basically the center of the photo which was suggested on Flickr since that 10x8 still leaves the pole in the frame. However, I can't say for sure since I haven't seen the crop I suggested. I just also hope my post isn't too confusing--basically, cut the far right out and just a portion of the top.

Been watching some unhatched swan eggs for the last month and the big day finally came...

The little ones actually hatched a few days ago, but for the most part were no where to be found (guess they didnt feel like posing quite so soon) anyways, they were out and about today for a good 15 minutes before they decided to crawl back under their mothers butt

    thank you XailLo.

But I notice now that after all the sizing and converting for web etc. that I have lost quite a lot of image quality. I will play around with it a bit more and reup if I get a chance.
