Turo, what a beautifully sharp lens!
And so many great photos folks! I just went back the 5 pages I'd missed to catch up; some really inspirational stuff there!

I recently picked up the 17-55 f2.8 (cheers Kev! ) and I am so in love with it! It's perfect for what I like to do. Perfect range and oh so so sharp!
Anyhoot, I spent yesterday photographing a friend's exhibition opening for the big photography festival that is going on here at the moment (FotoFreo, Fremantle Western Australia. Look it up!).

Of course, when beers are involved, shenanigans will prevail... My favourite highlight:

Later in the night I tried some of that blurry street photojournalism stylin'..
I kinda dig it to be honest heh.
One thing's for sure though, I'm going to be shooting a lot more black and white.

The set is here if you're interested.

Thanks for the comments and tim was right, this Rock python had enough frogs and my friend found him overfed at the time he took thisjust clarified it was taken near a pond by the side of a forest.Actually my friend stephen lives in the border of idukki district where there is plenty macro and wild life shooting opportunities, see IDUKKI here[/QUOTE]
This was taken with the kit lens and only had 55mm at the telephoto end...he cropped it heavily.

I lend my Dcr250 for some days to my friend and he asked me to share these as he is running on a dial up

Thanks, no I use auto focus. This was af-c, will go back to af-s I usually get better results. I am a bit out of practice on my timing but season just starting.

I may have to give the prefocus a try, never really gave it a thought. Would help in my trouble with sports composition. I always have to shoot center then crop. I want those 51 focus points.

Tried out my Sigma 30mm lens outdoors today. Although it was cloudy all day, with a bit of pp, heavy cropping and switch to black and white, this one came out okay. Any thoughts?

A lot of shadow clipping, but that's probably intended I'm guessing.

Where is here Erich? Not Lund at the base of Sweden by any chance?

The Rolls Royce Car Club of Aust had a get together last week around Adelaide. Here's my favourite shot of a kid learning to drive. A bit different from what I learnt to drive in

I should have got out the nifty 50 (left in my car), my 18-200 was just not up to the job to isolate the subject from the background for any of my shots and when I got home I found everything I took was around 50mm. Frustrating.
