Pirate, nice shot. Great timing.
Turo, great shot. Love the colours and DOF.
It's been a while since my last post on these forums. I have been really busy with my study the last couple of weeks. Also, I had very little inspiration and the weather was bad, so I took hardly any photographs the last two months.
Anyway, today the weather was pretty good, so I decided to take some pictures of the sunset. Here are three pictures I took today:
Attachment 34473
This image was taken after the sunset. The clouds started to light up orange because of light pollution, while the clouds a bit higher were brigher and whiter. I thought it looked pretty interesting. This was a long exposure, 30 seconds, taken at f/8 with the Sigma 10-20.
Attachment 34474
This image was taken with the 17-70 at f/7.1 and 55mm.
Attachment 34475
This picture was taken with the flash. I set the exposure to get the best exposure of the sky and let the flash fill in the foreground. This one was also with the 17-70.
Hope y'all like the pictures.
your landscapes are amazing mate, i really like the first one!

Turo, didn't know you were a Bulldog fan... good capture
Prospero, looks like you made up for lost time... very cool and dramatic set.
I thought about who I am... and realized I was an
unformed, unreconciled imagery, without "GOD"
NikonD?
and some other Nikon stuff

I concur, great shots there Prospero! Beautiful colours and great composition.
I spent a lazy Easter weekend near the beach, and thought I'd play around with some filters while there.
Did some heavy grad and warming filter stacking, originally trying to emulate that 70's film burnt-orange look, but in the end just decided to go 'arty' with it.
I guess my favourites are:

and

If interested, the set is here.
There's always time to get arty in my opinion!

prospero, great landscape images, one of the best i have seen. #1 & 2 are my favorites, but #1 is a real winner here. btw, is #2 also long exposure?
btw, flash fill in #3 works superb, i have to try this myself next time. did you use external flash for this?

Thanks a lot for the comments, Kev, Ssil, Xailo and P.du.V. I'm glad you like the pictures.
P.du.v, fantastic shots. I really like the use of filters here. Very well done.
Gintares, #2 was a pretty short exposure, in the order of 1/50s. I handheld that one. I used an external flash in the third picture (mounted on the camera).

PduV, I would call #1 image: “Martian vacation" - a surreal voyage. I like them both.

LOL, I can't let that happen, will post some more right away
Here's a HDR I took yesterday, I already posted it in the landscape thread, but for those who don't read that part of the forum I'll post it here too. It was made using three pictures two stops apart. I took them with a tripod for a change; that really does save a lot of work with alligning
