I think that they basically use a large projector to simply project an image onto the front of the building in the same way we project the ubiquitous Power Point slides onto the screen in every meeting room in the world.
Same technology much larger scale.

great shot mate, only thing i would say is it looks a little crooked, maybe try straightning the photo so the skyline is aligned? aside from that its really beautiful!
