I agree with you, it usually is best to keep your options open, but, in my D80 if I do any in-camera processing, it will create a new file with my edits saved, separate from the original file, which is left intact. In this case it's ok to play a little with the in-camera options.

    Nice photo by the way!

Thanks. Your photo gives me "flashbacks" to when I used to live in Wyoming. Now, I have to go close the door since I'm getting cold thinking about it.

This one looks good! I like this - if it were to be used on an Album cover - I would consider lowering the saturation half way between colour & B&W and then adding a little sepia - so It would be sepia with a bit of colour - also I would increase the contrast... purely for an Album cover, as far as a photo is concerned - I like it how it is.
    Nice job.

Tori make me feel cold too. and NO - IT DOES NOT make me want to move back North! It is a good reminder of one of the reasons I moved south!

For a little CC on that one, I think it could have been more powerful from a different angle - but I know, I wasn't there. But here is what I am thinking. There are a lot of technical challenges with that shot - especially with exposure, and I think you did pretty well there. But it seems to lack a real focal point (in composition that is). Like - "What was the intent of the photographer". I think it you could have shot it from a point left of where you were, closer to the road, you could have used the road for a line to draw the eye. There is plenty of things that are interesting enough, but it just seems a bit random, and not purposeful.

This is just a simple suggestion. I like your shots, and this one is nice as well, I am not great myself, but I noticed this, and thought I would mention it - maybe help stretch you - like I need to be stretched myself. Heck, I need to get away from my computers and work long enough to take some more pictures!!!

Perhaps, when it's summer time since it gets a little on the hot side here.

Here's another shot from the other night--nothing fancy, just some reflections in the water.
