    Thanks Dave. I share your pain, the winter here in the Netherlands is also very boring. There's no snow; heck, it isn't even cold. Every day seems to be cloudy. The entire landscape looks boring. Friday I went cycling through the surroundings of my hometown, but I couldn't find any interesting view to take pictures of...

    Hi! I haven't posted on these boards in ages. This thread has been very helpful in narrowing my choices into dSLR, I had an Oly 770. I love the fact that the camera and details are posted, plus the folks are friendly.

    I made the plunge this weekend and got a D80 kit with the 18-135 plus I picked up a Tamron 28-75 2.8. I'll be adding to this thread soon mostly nature shots, although it's drab around here in PA this time of year.

    Nice Twism, almost looks computer generated.

    I am still in Germany and made it to Köln(Cologne) yesterday which is Germany's 4th largest city with over 1 million people. The city exceeded my expectations and the 18-135mm continues to do the same.
