Perhaps, it is. These two photos will give you a better idea of what "it" is. For the first photo below, I used my 70-200mm VR.

I like the shots of the Luxor. I have always wanted to go there. Maybe someday, but now I will be sure to take my camera.

The building and it's surroundings are pretty cool. I also just finished adding around 30 more Luxor photos to my website (inside and out). I also plan to add some photos of and/or from the Mandalay Bay soon, as well as split up some of the larger albums, i.e. Fremont Experience and Caesars Palace/Forum Shops.

Im confused.. you took it with the 18-55mm or a wide angle you bought for $40? If it was a wide angle lens, it looks like you had the camera sideways for that picture, kinda defeats the purpose of a wide angle.

    Also, clean you sensor

It looks like it's a 16mm lens from the pic title.
Who says that wide angle lenses can only be used on landscape mode anyway?

I guess you can use it any way you choose but to me a wide angle is to capture "wide" angles and parts of landscapes and buildings you wouldnt normaly capture with a normal lens. Capturing a little extra part of the empty blue sky and bottom of the road kinda seems pointless to me. Just my own opinion.

EDIT, BTW K1W1, I was going to PM you an idea.. but since we are here... maybe you could start a new "sticky" thread with that list you brought over to this forum of the D40 compatible lenses. I think it would be a BIG help and would eliminate some posts about "will this lens work". I would do it, but I thought you deserved the credit.

I was thinking much the same thing. I'm not sure how to post a sticky thread. I assume that you have to have Admin rights or something to be able to do that otherwise there would be hundreds of stickies.
I didn't make up the list I just copied it from Nikonians and there are similar lists on DPReview and other places so I have no problem if somebody wants to post it for reference as long as it has a title that is blindingly obvious like "READ THIS FIRST IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR D40 COMPATIBLE LENS INFORMATION"
