Irfanview which is free (www.irfanview.com) has the ability to do watermarks. You can batch apply watermarks as well which is handy but they are all in the same location on the photo (you decide the location, font and font size and text)

My watermarks are put there by Lightroom and you have no control at all other than the actual text and whether or not they are there.

Here's my first shot with the sun IN the frame. (other than sunset)
I'm not sure I like the shot, but it was a good learning experience!
And I resized with my trial Lightroom. I think it has less destructive impact on the image than resizing with Paint Shop Pro.

Comments and criticism always welcome! Do you think a lens hood would cut down on the strange, curvy lens flare?

Pray tell. How does one frame a photo whilst looking at the sun through the viewfinder without being blinded?
I assume sunglasses or something are the order of the day here but even then I assume that there are sighting issues.
I like the photo as well BTW I think the flare just adds to it in that particular photo.
