Okay a blatant thread hijack. 
Sony P&S camera photo not taken by me. This is my daughter (then aged 10) on her first open water dive when she was doing her PADI certification about 4 years ago.
The creature is also not a Sea Horse but a Weedy Sea Dragon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus) which is closely related. they are very common in the area we were diving in and grow up to about 18" in length.
