A few night back, while waiting for some clients to show up for some engagement photos, I captured this image. I like the light spilling over the mountains in the distance.

Yes, being there right at the moment the sun was slanting through the trees made the shot. But I also added a gaussian blur layer (at 25 pixels) and lowered the opacity to about 40%. That adds the glow.

Some changes made in Photoshop such as removing some people by the water, contrast changes etc. What do you think?

Edit: Shaft, I had originally called the photo dark - it's not dark, but I think the contrast is slightly lacking. Maybe not strictly contrast, but try lightening the lights (not highlights... I'm talking in Lightroom terms here, hope they make some sense) so that the sand and clouds jump out at ya more. Maybe. It just seems like some of the scene's elements need a bit more differentiation.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Really appreciate it. I'm glad you liked it.

Tracey, as you said I did not post it before. It may look like some of my Delft or The Hague pictures. I hadn't even made a version with less pp before posting. Usually if I post processed pictures from my holidays so heavily, I make a more conservative edit too for my family. They always want pictures to look natural.

Rooz, nice shots of the kid. You're doing the right thing making kids get used to the Nikon brand early . Although it's no garantee that they will follow your example, my father used to shoot Canon and after that Minolta...

Tori, nice shot. I like the dreamy look.
