I dont mind you posting and joining us here, I really dont, but I think its a bit STRANGE posting Canon pics in the Nikon pic thread. Im pretty positive the folks on your side wouldnt be so understanding as we have over here.

BTW, the picture is nice, but looks on the "soft" side to me.

I guess you're correct in a way since I prefer my Nikon body with a red racing strip and a matching "color coordinated" black lens with a touch of gold instead of a mismatched white/gray lens with an oversize hood. To me, it's sort of like dating a refined woman versus slumming it with something just thrown on. However, don't get me wrong, slumming it can be fun too. It's just at times you may not want to take her home to mother.

I would have thought that that was what the "general topic" subforums were for as well as the photo galleries within the general topic area.

Handheld these at ISO 1600. Too lazy to break out the tripod
Not to mention that there were weird guys around on the city streets, I didn't want to linger

the first shot is beautiful i love the dreamy kinda spooky feel to it.not sure if that sort of blurry softness was just the camera shake or running it thru NR. eitherway, i think that effect looks great for this shot.

There has been quite a bit of discussion on this topic in the Lightroom groups on Flickr.
It seems that you need to bear in mind how the picture is going to be viewed when you do the PP. If it's going on the web (Photobucket, Flickr, etc) a different set of parameters need to be used than if the photo was going to be printed.
It's all too difficult for me.

At last, I got out to a great spot and snapped away to my heart's content. Thanks, odd holiday which i don't really know the reason for!

I'm a bit weary, so I'm not going to start on PP yet, but I have a few shots I really like. Here's one, no PP at all save the resize and watermark. More later.

    1/500 sec., f/5.6, ISO 200, spot meter @ 18mm

I know it violates the rule of thirds like 'ell, but I'm not carin' much.

By the way, toriaj, I'm likin' those shots too.

the best shot i have seen from you yet. brilliant.

although i'm really not a big fan on the watermark size and positioning, it completely ruins the photo imo.
