Wow been missing for a while some ripper shots in here keep it up!

This was supposed to be a James Bond Dr No Ursula Andress theme but I ballsed up the focus on those shots, at least I've got these to share instead. Here's looking forward to the re-shoot at least.

Wot, no knife at the waist? She's a brave girl, looks more like the cold waters off West Beach than the tepid blue ocean waters of the Caribbean! Nothing wrong with the focus on those two. You must have been actually standing in the water - I'd have been afraid a rogue wave might do something unspeakable to my camera.

Talking of rogue waves, on a recent trip to Washington state we travelled to the north-west (near La Push) so we could dip our toes (fingers, actually) in the Pacific Ocean.



"Stay there, I'd like to get a few more shots" I told my wife. She grumbled a bit but stayed there. Unfortunately, she took her eye off the approaching waves and as I had my eye glued to the viewfinder, I didn't see them either. Naturally, the inevitable happened.



I knew I'd suffer for it later but the silence in the car for the next two hours was worth it.

What? No Bikini? In the tepid waters of the Pacific Northwest? She had to know that she was inside the wave-wash line.

The water had to be at least 58 F. I quit swimming (and diving) in the ocean when I left Hawaii after living there for 5 years. Yup, spoiled me forever.

Ok Tim, how about one in color? I love monochrome but color, on occasion, is nice too.

You want colour? Here's one. It's not mine but my brother's. It's really nice and sharp, isn't it? It was shot with the D70 (I told you so, you'd say) and 60 mm Nikkor.
That shot you were referring to was in fact started off in full colours. However, I had problems since parts of it was in the sun and some in shade and it was really challenging to bring out details. So BW it is. I will post some different shots of the same temple in colour though.

Thanks for the suggestion Rooz, I'll work on actually thinking about what I'm doing rather than spraying and praying next time. I was nervous and not because I had pricey gear in the ocean.

It's not my shot but my brother's. He grows it and he lives in Victoria. It's only this year that he has good result with it.
He told me it's Sturt's Desert Pea (Swainsona formosa) - Floral Emblem of <YOUR STATE>.
