A shot from Preah Khan Temple, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia
Which one would you prefer: The colour or BW version?
That's a stunning location and a brilliant shot. I don't think either version is getting the most out of the image though. Particularly the black and white version which looks very flat. IMO, be more aggressive with your processing. Unlike the fuji which goes BOOM with mono right off the bat, I find the nikons need a good kick in the a$$ to get rid of the greyness.

The d70 is 6mp, it's not showing up the defects the d7000 would. Not saying the d7000 doesn't need a calibration, but you have to be careful that the resolving power of the d7k is going to amplify any OOF areas or technique flaws you have. A shot that could appear sharp on the d70 s going to look so-so on a d7k even if its slightly out. This is exactly what I'm going thru on my d800.

Yes I am finding that out. The transition from 3MP to 6MP was fairly easy. I'm realixzing that there is a little steeper learning curve, equipment and technique-wise) to 16MP. Additionally, as I upgrade my equippment I can see that there are flaws caused by the display i.e. things look much better on a new 23" monitor than on the old 19. Lenses, of course, need to be tweeked in camera as well.
I'm gettin' there. Slow but sure.
Thanks for the extra reminder.

Thanks Rooz. It's a stunning location indeed. In fact, like I said before, the location is photographers' heaven, there isn't just a few temple but hundreds of temples and monuments within 30 kilometres square.
As for processing, you notice it already... yes I am reluctant to go too heavy on it. There's a fear that the result isn't natural any more. Can you show me how much you would have done?
D70Fan. Thanks for your input. I might try sepia as well.
Awesome shot Tim, thanks for the invite to reprocess. Here's my go. I wanted to lose the green so crancked the green slider way left when doing the B&W conversion.

Two of my daughters shots from yesterday. That's it I'm never lending her my better lenses again, it makes me feel so inadequate

Great shots from your daughter, DPR. Either you have a very exotic garden or you've a lifetime subscription to the zoo, as you always seem to be around unusual animals!
Nikon D7000 and a bunch of Nikon stuff — oh, and some Canon p&s's too
