I think if we could see everyone's monitors all lined up in a row, we'd be amazed at the difference in how they display the same picture.     Just for you, Falconest, here's a close-up of the golf course shown in the previous photo. It's taken from the same position as the previous one, but this time using the 200mm end of the zoom range instead of the 18mm end. (200mm DX = 300mm FX, of course.) Data: 1/80s, f/5.6, ISO 100. Handheld -- thank goodness for VR! If you look carefully you can make out people putting on one of the greens. The river water is that peculiar shade of milky blue-green due to the 'rock flour' -- ground down rock particles from the glaciers above -- contained within it.

    A nice ask-and-you-shall-receive shot.

    I wonder what a round of golf runs on that baby. The courses here in the Monterey Bay (and N. California in general) area can get pretty pricy. i.e. Pebble Beach.

    I preferred the 2nd less sharpened one but I'd be tempted to overlay the sharpened over the unsharpened and erase back to the unsharpened foreground but sharpened mountains.

    The latest photo (which I also like) needs some contrast. Sorry to keep offering suggestions instead of just saying great shot.

    Took this today with the D600 with the 70-300
    It lives in my backyard. They show up in the early Fall for a few weeks then disappear.
    This one is about 3 inches.
    What could be better than this for my first post with the D600.
