Very interesting spider. I would have taken dozens with that colorful background if he held still long enough.
And therein lies the problem. Actually, the problem wasn't so much the spider staying still -- it was more the flower he was on moving in the breeze, and me swaying as I leaned awkwardly over a low wall, trying to hold the camera still. As you would be aware, the depth of field afforded by the 60mm micro is extremely shallow at minimum focussing distance, so there's no leeway at all.
He was there again this evening. I think he's a new hatchling, as he (or she) is only 2mm long (approximately) from mouth to end of body, with a 4mm span between his front legs. That's a very small spider. Viewed at normal distance, all you can see is a tiny all-white blob.

Just what I was thinking! Rooz, he's lost his baby looks and is quite the little boy now. And thanks for your comment on my spider photo.

I've been trying that one with my daughter for several years then recently she told a boy a Uni that her dad threatened to be sitting at home cleaning his shotgun whenever a boy came around and this kid turned out to be a gun nut and wanted to come around and talk guns. As a father you can't win so just keep handing over the money and smile.
Too funny K1W1, now I feel like I've got no choice but to relax and go with the flow

Just wait till you get the puberty mother-daughter conflict when Mum starts (subconciously) resenting "the other woman" in the house. That's when the fun really starts and if you don't have your man land retreat organized by then you will be in serious trouble.

My friend had a son around the time my older daughter was born. His words of wisdom: "I only have to worry about one penis. You need to worry about millions."
