    Todays shot... maybe pushed the depth of field to much? Shot at f/1.8...

    Well i think that it would have been a little better shot at f/4-5 but it still looks good the way it is.

    Nice shots, everyone.
    @Jrb350z: The butterflies where I live are too shy and quick on their feet (wings?) for me to get a good shot of them!

    @SONYNUT: Love the threatening sky -- is that SOOC or did you apply a tint?

    @AMDnut: With depth of field, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's always a compromise between focussing on a detail, and pulling back a bit to see more of the picture clearly. I think the following two shots illustrate this dichotomy nicely.

    If you check the Exif it was taken with a Nikon D7000

    I agree that this shows the butterfly much better and I was still able to have enough of the contrasting green that I like. This version is probably a much better photo. Thanks again for the suggestion.
