    S. Saqib Shams-II - Was this handheld or with a monopod or tripod? If you have a tripod i think you should go and take it again with a longer shutter speed to let more light in (about 4-6 seconds long) and also play with the ISO. Try not to let it go over 800 cause thats why the photo looks really grainy.

This was hendheld. Ok, I'll try to re-take it using a tri-pod while playing with Shutter speed and ISO, boss.

It was iso 1600 according to the Exif but what's wrong with grainy? I actually like the photo as it is it has a sort of gritty street feel.

I like the sign post shot although I might run it through Noiseware to remove a little of the grain. I currently am shooting only handheld as I have not purchased a good tripod yet. I pump up my ISO when needed for handheld.

Your D3000 seems to be doing pretty good though, very similar to my D40.

Pretty decent for a non macro hey AMd. Hope you're loving it.

I like the signpost shot too except that I always hate grain. Doing a good job with what you've Saqib - a better way to learn than just throwing down dollars.

I also like the signpost and would not have thought about taking it.
I would also try taking a long exposure as with the car lights you would get more of a sense of movement. Might be an idea to take a photo or two earlier as well when its slightly lighter ?
