I absolutely love this picture Turo. Nice colors and especially the Red/White/Blue of the ESB adds sooo much.

Kudos on the stream shot (K1W1) and the night shot of NYC (Turo).

Anyone know if the members in NZ are ok? We here in CA can understand the angst and devistation... as we all wait for the next one.

If anybody really wants to nit pick here is a link to the 13862 x 3492 pixel original. :-)
Which garden in Mt Dandenong is that? I haven't been to that one before. Nice pano, so will you be sticking to ICE or LR for panos?

I'm not aware of anybody who is regularly here who lives in Christchurch. Thronsen lives in Wellington but that's close to LA to SF distance and a different island.
My brother in law lives in Christchurch but he is on holiday at his place in Port Douglas (Australia). From what his daughters have told him they only really have damage from things falling off shelves rather than structural damage to their house.
Not one person killed in a 7.4 earthquake in a metropolitan area was amazing.

Nicholas Gardens. Now free entry thanks to our benevolent leader. :-)
ICE - the jury is out. What I really like with the LR and CS combo is that I can take the .NEF images into LR do basic camera settings and lens corrections then seamlessly send them to CS for stitching, do anything I want to the image in CS then seamlessly return it to LR for final editing in LR and save it. With ICE of course you would need to import the the .NEFs into LR them do basic editing and export to jpegs and save them then open ICE, do the stitch, save it, import the stitch into LR then edit that. Way more fiddly but a heck of a lot cheaper especially if you start with jpegs you can go straight to ICE.

I guess if you already have the software then the quicker method would be the one to choose. Is George Tindale garden and William Ricketts sanctuary free also or do they still charge? I know that they removed the cost for the National Rhododendron gardens.

I have a missionary friend who was near Port-Au-Prince when the quake struck there. about the same strength (7+) and 200+ thousands were killed. Biggest difference? quality of construction of major buildings. In Haiti they use the cheapest of materials and safety inspections are non-existent.

All free now. Nicholas Gardens and the Tindale Gardens have always been on the honesty system anyway and you used to very rarely see people putting money in the slot. I went for a walk around the Rhododendron gardens for the very first time about 6 weeks ago. Previously I've been too cheap to walk around plants we have at home anyway. :-)

And today's LR3 trick. Tethered shooting!
Apologies in advance for the model but the available talent was limited. Notice that the photographer has skilfully positioned a grey card in the photo (grey card page from one of Kelby's books propped open with an old lens and that the monitor is also tilted to allow a better view in the photo.
The camera was triggered with a mouse click and is simply connected to the PC via a USB cable, it's that simple.
