Not only was it hot enough on Sunday to think about a swim it was still cool enough for a pleasant motorcycle ride around the hills.

I did adjust some in post, i.e. brightness and at times white balance. The lighting sucked and was uneven if you know what I mean. Some photos had a yellow tint in certain areas and some were slightly brighter than others depending on where the players were positioned under the lights. In retrospect, I could have probably turned up the ISO some but that wouldn't have probably cured the uneven lighting. I have yet to see any photos from a few others who were there shooting Nikon D300's and Canons. Then I'll have a better comparison (at least in post). I can say the hockey photos came straight out of the camera much better, especially since the lighting wasn't so uneven and probably because the ice appears to help a lot.

Even shooting with the D200, I never hesitated to shoot ISO-1600 many a times and then ran it through Noise Ninja. I'm also using Nik noise reduction software now. Most of the venues I shot also wouldn't allow flash.

Here's another roller derby photo taken without flash. I just rechecked the following photo since I rembered bumping up the ISO some, i.e. from 1600 to 2000. Shutter speed 1/640s at F/2.8. If I had to use the D200, I would have probably ended up using the faster 50mm at ISO-1600 like I did in basketball before getting the D3.
