Only thing done in PP was add contrast/sharpen/straighten.

That's the beauty with Nikon metering and the D700.
I swapped to manual to fine tune the shutter speed so the ambient porch lights would kick in and light the foreground and also so the water would be rendered smoothly.

I've never had an easier time--and more enjoyable time--taking photos as I've had as result of swapping over to the D700.
I can't wait for the D700s to introduce video and usable ISO 12,800 and higher.

I just got my second D700 in yesterday. Shooting that DSC_001 on it was momentous. I kept putting off shooting something until I deemed it significant; really silly if you ask me, especially for a pro.

Edit: I checked the EXIF for this image and it was shot in Av, not Manual, but all of the shots in the series have nearly identical exposures. The water/clouds look is the only difference.

Now we just have to cure you of Canon-speak. That's A, and Shutter priority is S, not Tv, which probably stands for Time-something with a v. ;-)

    Oh geez!
    That's right, mea culpa.

TNB, were you on the ice? The shot is so clear and perspective just plain wicked.
