I like it, too. I think it's the contrast between the "hard" outfit and environment, with her sweet face. I think you did a good job bringing that out in the PP, although I'd be interested in seeing the original version.

    Very very striking!
The shot brings a mixture of thoughts and feelings - capturing it at that particular moment. The child looks very vulnerable beside the large dog, added to that those teeth and the whites of the eyes.
But you realise also how trusting he is and how nice the dog really is - just that moment of pose makes the dog look a little (to put it mildly) threatening!
    Awesome shot!!!

PHeller - great shot and obviously you got the PP to do what you wanted
I like it - it's a great natural pose and the colour treatment is cool!

Rooz - I thought you did really well?!! Nice shot and the landscape crop works for me.

Chinsumo - obviously also a 'bulb' shot!!

I don't disagree at all actually. Jack (German Shepherd) is a protection trained 2 year old, and if you didn't live with him you would certainly be afraid. But Jack has been around Xander since the day he came home and is extremely careful with him. Xander crawls on him, puts his hands in Jack's mouth and everything else a baby would do. Jack just sits there and lets him do it. If we ever felt that Jack was a danger to Xander he would be out of our house in a heartbeat.

With that said, it does make for great photos

I have very mixed feelings about that picture (the one with the baby and dog). The dog looks so scary. I hear what you say about him being a sweetie to your son, but he just looks so vicious. The contrast between the two emotions is striking. Maybe that is what makes it such a neat picture, one that you have to look at and study for a few minutes?

I also really like the picture of the girl. She looks so sweet and innocent, and then you notice the cigarettes. Really nice pictures, very though provoking.
