Btw, if I am not mistaken you had D700 before D3, if so then why you swapped? any specific reason?

There's a reason I guess that most portraits tone down sharpness a little. Looks like I could sharpen my pocket knife on him

Yes, I agree, particularly when taking portaits of women. However in this instance, the final product (a photo in a theatre programme) was going to be quite small. Also, I was curious to know just how sharp the 18-200mm VR can be!
Nikon D7000 and a bunch of Nikon stuff — oh, and some Canon p&s's too

yeah thats sharp as anything. great light most of all. great case of perfect eye contact and a simple composition.

Nice portrait (and that would be me that complains about the 18-200 ).
