The orange vest has "Marshal" written on the back. I had one on as well. They are a pain in the a^*e because they restrict air flow through the jacket vents even though they look like they have plenty of holes in the fabric.
The rider in other photo is a participant he has an armband on his right arm. The colour denotes which group he was in.

I recommend you watch this funky little time lapse video showing how the whole incremental launch thing went shot from the southern abutment.

I've not offered the contractor any of my shots. I did occasionally shoot the project for my department though but I was on the clock at the time so felt it legitimate to give them the images. Any shots taken in my own time (the creative shots basically) I kept to myself.

Dread. Did you forget something? Maybe an attachment? i.e. The funky time-lapse video.

    St Patty's Day Gulls.

Down by the river today on my usual walk and had this opportunity to catch a number of gull's on the ice and in the air. They were giving me airshow passes showing off.
Ice is mostly gone although a couple of slabs stranded on the shoreline show how deep it had gotten during this winter.

Great shots Falcon. Different type of gull than we have here.

Here is a shot of your winter vegetable garden. i.e. Salinas Valley (Mount Toro in the background). Steinbeck country. Of Mice And Men, Grapes Of Wrath, East Of Eden.

Dread, Here is our equivalent to your magnificent trestle. I have a feeling that it took a little less time. Even back in 1927. This Southern Pacific line is no longer active.
