I'm not big in B&W. It just doesn't make sense that after million$$$ and many years research in R&D to develop colour photograph, some people end up head over heels over B&W!
I admit though, sometimes B&W bring out more details than colour image can ever do.

Hey K1W1.... that's one stunning shot (in colour). Or is that sepia?

I know, some of the most impacting images I have seen have been in B&W. Just speculating. I have used sepia tone on some of my shots and liked the results. I think news photos benefit from the monochrome treatment, for then we concentrate on what the image is saying to us and not what colors are showing up and whether the color balance is correct. Might try to B&W some of the game shots and see what they look like.

Rich, not sure the B&W makes a positive difference in this case.

Here is one that was on the "lost disk".

K1W1; I didn't like it all that well too flat, no contrast. Was taken during a brief passing cloud. tried to boost contrast but didn't like the outcome. Shoulda remembered "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Hope you don't mind but I had a play with the picture. It looks to me that all you did was turn all the sliders down. If you don't want these edits here let me know and I will take them down.

There are lots and lots of ways you can edit black and white probably more ways than you can edit colour I suspect these are just two very quick examples that give totally different results.
