    Dread and Falcon, Fan-Bloody-Tastic!

Dread, that shot of your daughter is a keepsake.

Falcon, you need to change your name to Dragon

Happy 4th of July. A quick walk-about. This time through my town. First just a snap of our megalopolis-by-the-sea. Then a few close-ups using the Vivitar. I'm now convinced that this lens is the bargain of the century. The macros taken at 4 and 1.5 inches respectively. Getting the hang of the MF (Manual Focus ) The EXIF lens FL info is not correct.

Ah, the family outing... how quaint. A lovely group. I would take a group shot, but don't have enough tripods.

Nice rework of the second shot as well. Been re-watching the Harry Potter series, so my English may change in the short term. Cheers then.

Seeing as we're having one of those rare days with sunny weather and heat above 20 degrees celcius (doesn't happen to often around here) I took the d700 + sigma 50mm macro and planted myself next to some flowers, waiting for some bugg(er) to come flying by..

    A selection of today's session.

These shots are merely a sample of what I was able to capture today. Had several unique opportunities.
    1. Common Whitetail Male
    2. Wandering Glider. This fellow(?) hovered for at least hour this morning.
    3. Blue Dragonlet (top) and Widow skimmer males on same perch. This perch seemed to be popular as several others scuffled over it.
    4. Multiple matings: 2 pairs of Bluet Damselflies and a pair of Green Darners and an observer (maybe an obstetrician?) using the same plant cluster for mating purposes. Bad thing is this water is just temporary and this area will dry out when the river drops, guess these guys don't know that.

wow, that last shot with so many d'flys is great. I never find that many staying still in one place here in ATL. I did find one today that was hanging on my car antenna in the late afternoon. Only had the ZX-2 with me; guess I should post it in the Olympus forum...
