I tend to process the HDR photos before loading all the photos into Lightroom these days.
Thanks. I might just give it a try.

Tried sns-hdr, but would not load correctly, even with virus software disabled. Guess XP-PRO (32bit) is too old. Other software runs fine.

I tried HDR once and sucked badly. Never attempt again.

K1W1 and Anthony: First thanks for all the inputs. Saved me a lot of time.
For as much as Photomatix Pro 4.2.6 may not be the best HDR software, it seems to have its good points.
1. Stand alone software. i.e. it's not a CS plug-in. I like the flow in NX2. Would be great if Nikon would add HDR.
2. Runs on XP Pro.
I've only run one set of images, where I neglected to turn off VR shooting on a tripod, so a little off, but still surprisingly good. I'll have another go at it tomorrow. Definately expands the known universe.

Seeing as we still seem to be stuck on HDR.
This is a seven shot sunrise (-3,-2,-1,0,+1,+2,+3) attempt from early 2012

Very natural looking HDR sunrise in exposure, but I think it seems a little too normal daylight color temp to feel right.

I wasn't really sunrise it was about 7am and probably a good 30-40 minutes after real sunrise but just at the time when the sun was coming over those trees.

Agreed. But definately shows the relative value of HDR. I'm not a big fan of over the top HDR processing but looks pretty good to me. Without the ghost, maybe a little better. Printed I'm not sure the color temp would be a big issue.
The new printer is showing me alternate ways to look at images and color profiling.
Thanks for the shot K1W1.

I do not like over the top HDR either D70FAN.
This is a photo from last year with the 3 original photos ( loses some of the effect when reduced to a jpg at this size ):

My camera only takes three photos by default; I did try taking six by moving the exposures over after the first three but in that case there was not much difference to just using three exposures. I also tend to go -2/3rd 0 +2/3rd and adjusting the 0 position.
