DPRoberts,
That's a nice shot. It certainly looks like the Dreads are comfortable both in front and behind the camera. I'm glad the 40°C forecast didn't eventuate where I am.
Sir Les,
You won't regret the 16-85 VR. I have it 99% of the time on the two cameras. Now the rubber ring has worn down on mine. LOL
Here's another one from my favourite beach.

Nice scene and well taken Tim, Cronulla?
Have you considered some dodging and burning on the left foreground

It's Wollongong, DPRob. You can see Port Kembla steel plant on the extreme left.
I tried to bring out some details on the foreground; but may be not enough.

I haven't run out of ancient temple shots yet... (Oh no!)
Preah Khan Temple, Siem Reap, Cambodia
I don't know what that was supposed to be. A giant bell? Nonetheless, the light coming through the gap makes it look liek a candle being lit.

As always, very nice temple shot Tim.
Hah! 40C, when I lived in the Phoenix (AZ) area that was jacket weather.
Average temp from June to September... 45C. On the other hand the relative humidity was around 5% - 10%, so we were dry roasted vs. just roasted.

Gad that's hot D70, how and why would you live there.
Here we only get that sort of thing as a max 1 or 2 days a year. Last Friday turned out to be 44C (111F)

In my former life I worked as an engineer and marketing manager in the semiconductor field. From CCD's and CMOS Micros & Imagers to High Power MOSFETs. Phoenix was the last stop on that journey (Microchip and ON Semi).
Brutal summers, but absolutely fantastic winters. I'm a Northern California "kid", so returned to my native home during the economic "bust", and forced to retire (a bit of age-ism). A little bumpy for a while, but ok now.
Photography has been the one constant in the universe. I do miss Arizona (fantastic terrain and subjects), and plan to return for visits down the road.

That's a pretty nice looking winter! and a lovely sharp shot.
Around every picture there's a corner & round every corner there's a picture
- the fun's in finding them
