the tiger shot is a nice one but theres something not quite right about it. i cant put my finger on it but i cant help but feel disappointed i didnt do much better considering how well they were posed.
JUST CLARIFYING THIS IS AN EDIT OF ROOZ'S SHOT.
The sharp lines on the bamboo and the deep blacks above them. You could try masking them and giving the bamboo a slight blur. May not be it but perhaps it's what your looking for.
I'm not sure if it's any better but for what its worth it's the direction I may have headed

It's a very good shot. Composition, color, etc. sometimes the image on the computer, just don't match what we saw through the viewfinder. Othertimes we pull a "framer" from the rubble. The hard copy print will sometimes surprise us as well.
Recently I was on a vineyard shoot, both for posterity, and a label image). The shot used on the label was not one of my favorites but the client loved it... not much on the computer, but on the label it does indeed look darn good.
The tiger shot is a very good image, and probably would look great printed @ 13 x 20 (or larger)...
... Or used on a cat food label (sorry couldn't help myself) JK.

Only a quick process as I'm supposed to be going to work byut here's my favourite grab from an electrical storm we had last night, a much more active storm than usual so I gave it a go taking 30 second exposures and seeing what I got.

On my balcony, I'd get a better shot from the roof but lacked the balls to stand up there with a conductive tripod.
