    Back on subject...

Here is a shot with the 43-86 f/3.5 (AiS) on the D7000. Seems to work very well, and the D7000 is very accomodating, but man does it have a long minimum focus distance (~1 meter). I never noticed how my manual focus skills have faded until now.

I took this the day after I got the D600, but was unable to do anything with it because I took it in RAW.

I printed this on an Epson 2000 printer and it turned out awsome.

After converting to a jpg and uploading to photobucket doesn't look so good. What's the best way to post and still keep decent IQ?

I post mine to my smugmug gallery then down-load it as an XLarge image.

I suppose that you could just reduce the JPEG image size (i.e. shoot in NEF+JPEG), and dpi, in PS then save it at about 7-8 quality. That should knock it down to a manage-able size, and still retain poostable IQ.

Note: You probably could have set the apature to f/4.0-f/8.0 on that shot and still had plenty of shutter-speed headroom, while using the ultra sweet spot on the 50 f/1.8.

I'm in the volunteer fire department here in White Stone, and occasionally we do live training burns, and this is a shot I took from one last fall. I don't believe I've posted this.

I already have FX lenses as it was the only way to get the quality I wanted as damn Nikon never released a decent DX lineup. so I'm sick of lugging around heavy glass and not getting the max benefit from it, this is why I've gone FX. I don't particularly care that the body is a bit dearer.
