DPR;
Beautiful beach shot, wish I was there.
Check out this biker I saw at the local Micky D's, Straddling his Harley and texting. Talked to him in the store later and found that he had just learned how to do it and liked doing it. The incongruency of the thing intrigued me and I had to take the shot.

I really like that biker shot. Have you considered eliminating the puddle behind his back and possibly subtly blurring the fore and background

This is s close-up of one of several shots I took of this "Writing Spider". After I uploaded them and looked at the shots on screen, I noticed that it had a couple of strands of web in its palps. I cropped very close on one of the shots and got this look at them and came up with this caption:
"Now, how do I tie a square knot?"
Taken with the "Bugma" 150. First time in a while I got out with it. Good choice, will try to post more shots from this session in the Insect thread.

Those Garden Orb Weavers can be pretty darn huge. I saw one on a Starbucks window a few weeks ago about as big as my thumb. They look scary, but apparently their bite is mostly harmless to humans as the venom is fairly weak. Colorful critters for sure.
@stuarts1031: there's definitely a "fuchsia" for you in photography!
@DPR: lovely shots of our local beaches
@Falconest174: Fabulous spider shot - only confirms my theory that insects when seen very close-up are incredibly scary.
The shot below is of one of the lovely girls (and boys!) singers and dancers that entertained us in the ship's 600-seat theatre on our recent cruise to Alaska. The troupe put on 3 different shows throughout the week, and the singing, dancing, choreography and costumes were first class. This was from one of the final night's big production numbers, a tribute to the Ziegfeld Follies (for those of you old enough to remember). I was sitting about 25m (~75ft) from the stage, at the back of the stalls. D7000, Nikon 18-200VR, 1/200 @ f/5.3, ISO 900.
Nikon D7000 and a bunch of Nikon stuff — oh, and some Canon p&s's too
