So you are doing the North American grand circle tour? Or are you Aussies just used to flying 1000 miles to the next city in a big circle?

Went out to Spreckles (a very small town at the base of Mount Toro by Salinas). This is the greeter. Sort of the Jolly Green Giant of his time.

The lights all wrong and the shadows are harsh, but I really liked this capture...

Sometimes we don't get to pick the light. Good action shot.

Canada is amazing in its variety. If you'll pardon the indulgence, here are a few samples.
And to kgosden: we're heading your way next!
You might want to check the exposure settings down the road.

Sorry, but that one went over my head. Are you referring to the weather or my photos? If the latter, I'm working with a small netboook I use for travelling, and the screen colours and brightness are probably very different to what I use at home. Plus I haven't got Photoshop on the netbook!
Nikon D7000 and a bunch of Nikon stuff — oh, and some Canon p&s's too

Whilst we ARE used to flying thousands of miles to our destination, we're actually only hopping on a train from Vancouver to Seattle on the next leg of our journey. What I meant was we'll be leaving "the Queen's soil" and venturing into a land where the British Royal family (except for Edward, Prince of Wales) haven't been welcome since 1776.
