Wow this thread is jumping with activity and great shots lately.

I prefer the higher contrast whether through different taste or monitor settings I can't guess.

I also can't guess the building Sir Les, maybe I don't look up enough. Waterfall Gully kiosk or something in Hahndorf ?

Close, but no cigar. It's Thorngrove Manor at Stirling, one of the "Small Luxury Hotels of the World", or so the sign says. Prices start at $780 per night and go up from there. (That does include a continental breakfast, though. Personally, I couldn't give a flying continental....)

@ Classic96: Pure Buck Rogers! Great shot!

@ tfa8rva: Very moody -- definitely suited to b&w. Hope you looked both ways before setting up!

Check that it will work okay before you put it on your camera. People have had issues with putting these old lenses on then not being able to get them off again.

Very nice -- puts me in mind of a Monet painting. Perhaps it's the footbridge!

Most of my HDRs are done with multiple exposures. This time, I experimented (again) using one RAW file and processed it using Photomatix and CS5. The result of a boring shot after doing HDR and adding some effects:

    Nikon D700 | Nikon D90 | 14-24mm 2.8 | 24-70mm 2.8 | 35mm 1.8 | 50mm 1.4 | 85mm 1.4 | 105mm 2.8 Micro | 70-300mm VR | SB-800s | Tiffen UV Filter, ND and Polarizer set
