So due to my work schedule(working afternoons) I'm not able to make a lot of family events or my daughters activities. So I made it a point to get to more things this year regardless of my hours. She swims on Monday nights, my wife swam competitively her whole life and I think we have another one. She's 7 and normally swims against the 10 and 11 years olds. However, today this guy jumped at the chance to be the first one to race the length of the pool. Then he found my girl was the fastest swimmer from the previous class and his confidence just got sucked out of him. She beat him by more than 3 body lengths. Needless to say I'm very proud!
I called this one Sizing up the Competition:

Really like the first one as it portrays so much. The actions shots are good, but almost seem routine for swimming, which is what makes the first one stand out. Great expression on the last one but the pylon detracts.
Oh, and someone should tell the boy to ditch the baggy shorts.

Thanks for the kind words, I agree the first one does say a lot. The others as you said are just routine. Can wait for summer when she starts completing again.

Nice panorama and long exposure. I miss doing night shots. I wish spring time arrives sooner than later.

Great shot of theOpera House. Most pics of it show the entire complex. It is nice to see a close up of the 'sails' showing detail usually not noticed.
We got missed by the worst of the snow but got quite a bit of sleet and freezing rain, turning colder, now and snowing a bit, black Ice warnings have been issued.
