I was reading an artical in a camera magazine the other day and they had a similar image and the comment was it is better to have the pier coming in from the left as we tend to read from left to right.
I have tried fliping your image horizontaly and am not sure if it looks better that way or not.
"We" being people of Judaic/Christian backgrounds who read from left to right of course. In terms on numbers of people in the world the way "we" read is in the minority.
right to lef,t left to right, whichever. For those of us who are dyslexic we would get it mixed up either way. I am always correcting my typing and writing, transposing numbers, too.
