I got home from work at the 'paper and decided to put my D700 to personal use.
I got my 24" ezybox out and used a 1/2 CTO on a SB600 and 1/2 CTB snooted for my BG.
I didn't feel like using a tripod so I just held the Nikkor 17-35 f/2.8 at 28mm and fired away.
Does the balance look normal, a little too warm? I think on my wife who has white skin, the 1/2 CTO would be more ideal, I should try 1/4 CTO for naturally warmer skin tones.
I set WB to 4350K, also.
BTW, CLS is awesome! No cybersyncs or PWIIs dangeling around, and no constant adjustment of manual settings on the strobes.
All easily adjusted on the D700's LCD! I freakin love Nikon. If only George (D70FAN) had nudged me a little stronger back in 2005.
Nice shot. Your face is a bit on the orange side but not too bad. I wouldnt worry about which level of CTO jel you use. Just wing it and if its tooooo much (like in this case) just desaturate it a little in photoshop.

Thanks. The letters are gigantic. One of my photography friends actually climbed inside the "O" in "World Market Center" and laid down while I was setting up to take a photo.
