I like this shot but two things stop it being a killer:
1 - The two trees are cropped. Would have liked to see them in full
2 - The time of day the shot was taken...high sun

I'm still getting used to the D700 as I've only had it for a week. The metering system is quite different to my D70s as the D70s tried to expose for the highlights which often meant slight underexposure. The D700 metering is pretty much spot on, although does result in some blown highlights more often than my old D70s. Here's a shot with the AF-S 50mm f/1.4G and SB600 bounced to my left. I was lucky to capture his expression as it was so quick.
