With that shutter speed and aperture (and still being well exposed), did you also use a ND filter? If so, what was it, and if not, was it night time?

This was shot inside Santa Maria Maggiore, the largest church in Rome. I desaturades everything but the eye painting to give it a sort of mystical feel, like the eye was glowing.
