Thanks! I hear ya about the noise, but it would be nice to be able to shoot ISO 800 or even 1600 if needed. I use my strobes, but also like to shoot indoor avail with the boy so the D90 would be a much welcomed addition to my small, but growing arsenal

I used ISO800 regularly with my D40 it and always yielded excellent results.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? 800 with avail light is noisy, never tried it with the strobes.

The D40x has more noise than the D40. Youre not doing anything wrong. Dont feel too bad though, my D200 sucks with ISO performance too.

So I thought this was an intersting shot. I shot this last weekend when I shot my friend's band.
I was backstage while they were loading-in. This is part of a lighting rig.
