I would love to see a photo of Rooz taken that photo to see the angles of the flash positioning. Rooz was that from a ceiling bounce or were you using an umbrella?
cincy, no i dont use umbrellas at home much anymore cos they're always in the boot of my car and i'm generally too lazy to get them out. the flash is on cam and bounced off the ceiling which is around 3.2m high but also using the bounce card to throw some more light into his eyes to bring out as much reflection as possible.
to be honest, i am finding there are some differences in the diffusion of light from the sb900 to the sb800/600. particualrly at close range it seems to give a softer, even light. i cant substantiate that at all mind you...just my impressions. perhaps cos the head is further from the lens ? i dunno. too technical.
otherwise, the 50/300/900 combo works pretty darn well. looking forward to af-s.

I couldn't justify the cost of the 900 even though I could have afforded one. I bought an 800 to go with my 600 and that should serve me well for a while.
