Very, very nice. What ISO did you use? Noise control is great...how did you pull it off so effectively?

hey thanks - the ISO is not in the EXIF.. it's not in there for pretty much all my D70 shots, dunno why.
I'm guessing it was as low as possible (100?). I did apply one pass of NR.

Nice pic fiasco, great lighting. The heair covering her right eye is a bit distracting to me. Great shot.

Cool shot Rooz, love the background.
Gonna post two more pics of the racing event. These are some old Fords and Chevy's racing in a Legends class. If you watch F1, Kimi Räikkönen and Heikki Kovalainen's fathers were drivers at this event. More as a fun hobby i think, the profit went to charity.
Pretty much the only picture i consider to be any good from my first panning tries.

Heres some action from the pit, show's the athmosphere of the race. More of a fun family event than head to head race.

Rooz,
As always - amazing color and sharpness on the bug.
Here is a bird that I shot today. This is a resident of the new flamingo exhibit at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.

Camera: Nikon D40
Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1600)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 200 mm
ISO Speed: 200
Shot in RAW, converted in RAWTherapee. I pulled out some shadow and highlight detail and applied a bit of sharpening and exposure adjustment, and cropped to the 4/3rds aspect ratio. Used the cheap but wonderful 55-200mm VR wide open at maximum zoom.
