Really crisp LR, nice composition too. I like it.

Rawpaw nice shot, wish we had planes like that here. Top secret only 30 years ago and now you can point a camera at it. The only thing we've got in our A/C museum here is an antique plane (the Southern Cross).

Rooz good idea putting the clouds in. How did you do that? When I paste a new layer in photoshop I can't work out how to move a layer relative to the other layer. I've been wanting to change skies in pictures and this would help.

I've also been up close to the much smaller SR-71 since they have been at the local AFB.

Here is my latest addition to the board. I used my 50mm 1.8 which is a challenge with moving objects. Without the ability to auto focus more than half of my shots were to blurry to use. To make it even more difficult I had the app set to 1.8 to try and isolate him from the background. I wanted "mom" to be a little more recognizable but oh well. I love the look on his face in this one.

    Camera: Nikon D40X
    Exposure: 1/3200 sec
    Aperture: f/1.8
    Focal Length: 50 mm

i couldnt get him big enuf in the frame to include the clouds aswell so when i took the pic against the blue sky, i moved the camera over a fraction and got just the clouds framing them to the far right of frame.

open the spider pic first, paste the clouds on top of it in a new layer and then just use the eraser ool to rub out the left hand side of the clouds frame to reveal the spider layer.

the secret i think in this for crap photoshop users is to get the tones right cos it means its very easily executed with no other adjustments apart from eraser. i have tried to stick in backgrounds before but have never been able to do it cos the tones look wrong and the edges from where i cut and pasted look to fake. if you take the pic at the same time of day though everything matches up pretty easy.

Ah..I knew you were joking around, but my quip was too good not to use (now that's modesty!)...regardless of the incorrect context...

Plus I thought it might make some NZer laugh...

If you were referring to me I thought that it was a great suggestion. I'll sit here and await the published shot with modesty inserted.
