Herc Re the sig I'll make it less obtrusive but I copied the concept from the good folks on this site and thought it was a good habit to start. I also post a bit on the small side for the same copyright reason. One day when I get better I'd like to be semi professional so I think of a sig as practice. I know everyone has these ambitions and probably hardly anyone sells an image but I live in hope. The business sig is obviously not Dread Pirate Roberts
No i like the sig, but if you were not doing it for copyright, then I would put it in the border. I have only started doing it (I kinda stole it from Rooz....cheers Rooz ).
Think your photos are really good and would benefit from taking the sig out of the photo.
i dont know if i could cope with failing at another software program. lol
on a serious note, i really do have to learn some more cos i feel its really limiting me right now and its gone from being a bit funny to being annoying as hell. anything other than the basics like levels and curves, basic cloning and USM and eveything i touch turns out bad. besides which, my laptop has almost gone on many unscheduled journeys out the window...
Believe me my laptop has vertigo too. Its getting slow for photo processing.
If you have any questions post them on here. I have learnt to do quite a few things on photoshop and learning Corel now.
To be honest, the main things I use are curves, the borders, sharpening, black and white and thats it.
Any more than that and I feel I am hacking at a shit photo!

herc: Give the tools: 'Shadow and Highlights' and 'Color Balance' a try. I never edit a photo without them and my final products usually turn out pretty nice.
I don't know much about PP but i do have PSelements and i have just bought Lightroom because i want to start shooting RAW!
What do people usually do!? Edit everything in lightroom like curves, levels, contrast etc and then take it into photoshop or do you do something different?! Ive never worked with RAW before now so dont know the usual workflow!
SUCH a cool picture Stuart. I'm moving to AZ from MI in August! I can't WAIT to take some inspired photos. I've grown so accustomed to everything in Michigan. It just seems so generic compared to some of the things I see captured in AZ.
Thanks! Quite the change from Michigan to AZ, at least you won't have to deal with the horrible winters.

Thanks as well. It is the new Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S. Quite an awesome lens. I find myself keeping that lens on exclusively lately.
