pp is saturation/color.
thats a superb portrait. the desat and crop work beautifully. without seeing an evenly lit image, (flash on both sides), its hard to tell if the lighting in this one could have worked better another way, but as it stands its just beautiful. thats one to really be proud of.
DPR, thats a great shot. how did you do the stacking ? goddamit, am i the only idiot that cant do this ? lol

Thanks Rooz.
I liked the look of the funghi leading edge when perfectly focussed. So I took a shot at F8 or so of it. The rest was pretty much oof but I thought the stem had potential if focussed. I couldn't get both at such a close distance even at F22 so I took a 2nd shot of the stem at F8 or so. Both were handheld, manual focus with timer delay release because my cheap tripod doesn't get that low.
It was a low light, even, backlit kind of rainy day with slow shutterspeeds and I was laying in the wet grass to take both shots from the same position.
Then in post I adjusted curves to increase contrast etc on the Nef's in NX, cropped slightly and sent to photochop as 16 bit Tiffs (just in case). I then used channel masking to select the stem (took about a minute to do). I cut the stem and pasted it into the focussed shot of the funghi top as a new layer. I cloned out a bit of the oof stem on the funghus top layer so the new stem was all you'd see over the top.
I swear I feathered the edge of the stem but it looks so blasted crisp at the edges it doesn't look real. Thats the bit I don't like of the photo. I guess because I've got light stem and dark grass so close you visually get quite a distinct edge.
So I think I can call it focus stacking since it's two shots but as I did it manually as a cut and paste it probably doesn't qualify for a purist. The edge of the funghi top going out of focus as you look round the diameter is also a give away that it is made from only two shots not more. But I like the look of the top as is and wouldn't change that.

here is one I took on the weekend. HDR, but quite subtle. I love Corel Photoshop. It has an excellent HDR feature.
Thanks. I like your HDR photo even though I very seldom like any HDR photos since most I see appear to be "over done" if that makes any sense.

Thanks. I took the photo from the Eiffel Tower located at the Paris-Las Vegas Hotel & Casino overlooking the Bellagio Hotel & Casino. I've added another view below.

To me, it looks a little "blue".

I like the shot too, but don't worry you're not the only idiot that can't do it. LOL.
Dark and cool (about 55-60F and above in the desert it was about 80-85F) and wee bit sandy when the wind starts blowing. Had to try and keep the sand from getting all over everything.
