Nice shot r3g. I think you meant the opposite, because the lower the flash level the more blownout the background would be. With the flash turned up higher the difference between your subject and background would be less so would blow out the background less.

Had i known that we wouldnt be having this conversation Youd think it was the other way around -_- lesson learned!

I apologize by the poor quality of the automobile in the photo. I suppose a Porsche 356 or a Jaguar XKE would be appropriate. But alas, I have neither. What I do have is a lean mean photo hunting machine.

Hope it works next time you try it. It's always worked for me, you'll have to play around with FEC values as there's no hard and fast rule since the background brightness may differ with each scene. Here's a photo I tried last night.

Really like that shot. Your conversion almost makes it look like an IR shot. Must be the colors that you based the conversion on.... Really nice job in the shot AND the conversion.
