Nikon DSLR "Picture Of The Day"

One of my friends had this friend that wanted a couple of pictures of his R6 so we decided to take a little photo shoot of both the R6 and the a Dodge Neon.

Any suggestions on either photo would be helpful. The vignetting is from my post processing. I think it adds to the composition to direct your eye towards both the bike and the rim.

I agree. How the heck do you get them to stay still in mid air like that?
When I try it they always fly away!

Maybe my aperture is not correct or something? Or should I just buy a D200 instead or one of the KR recommended helium filled lenses? :-)

A D200 will not solve your problem! This will only be resolved with a D2H or a D2X and a couple of fast primes> If you don't buy one of these the birds will know and will never hover in front of you :-)

Guess Ill join the bike train. This is when I was in my streetfighter phase hints the missing windscreen.

A little fill flash would have helped this photo immensely. I like to take pictures of people backlit like this, because it opens up their eyes. But, you have to compensate with some reflected light or fill flash, or you end up having your subject becoming a shadow.

I tried fill flash with the light behind her. Even with the flash turned down as low as it would go it always completely blew out the background. Id show you but i already deleted the RAW files

If you don't use fill flash next time just try using a white reflector or gold reflector to bounce some of the sun's rays back to her face.

Nice shot r3g. I think you meant the opposite, because the lower the flash level the more blownout the background would be. With the flash turned up higher the difference between your subject and background would be less so would blow out the background less.
