Did you crop that or PS it at all? It seems noisy.
Yes, did crop, but about 1/3 way in... and boosted with auto-enhance in Picture Perfect... It is noisy...
So here's what i did, definitely not the best way to go..
Used manual mode, set f/8 cos it was sweet spot, and set 1/400 cos i was shooting at 300mm handheld and wanted to stop action if the birds fly...
Auto ISO, set at ISO 100, with max of ISO 800..
I did this because I was shooting in daylight.. though a little cloudy. The above method worked, and the auto ISO went to at most 400 most of the time... it turned out that this bird (found out this is a Blue Jay later on, courtesy of my girlfriend) was really playful... kept flying around and hiding... And I got this shot (which in terms of composition, i think its the best among the others). BUT of course, its in the bush and i did not have time to change aperture or anything else.
Anyone has a good way to overcome this "no time to change setting" problem??? or other alternative methods??
anyway, here's another one with better noise.. f/8 @ 1/500s, ISO ended up at 450, cropped and auto-enhanced.
Thanks, Tori. Sorry about the cloudy skies in "Windy Wyoming". You miss Utah when the weather is like that? (or is the weather about the same in both states?)
Nope, the weather from the part of Utah to the part of Wyoming I traveled to is about the same. Maybe more windy here. But the skies cleared up yesterday afternoon and I got some shots . I'm working on processing, hopefully some of them will turn out well. 3-day weekend coming up. Definitely want to get more shots then.
