Nikon DSLR "Picture Of The Day"

First time posting here.

I have a D40, and I am using a 18-200 mm lens.

Very nice, Mugsisme. The colours and composition are great.

Here's my picture of the day, the result of some experimenting with the Sigma 17-70. I took this shot at 17mm and f/2.8. I kind of like the effect of perspective and shallow depth of field at these settings. C&C welcome.

I am very happy with my new Nikon D80, now 5 days later after purchase I start get familiar to my new camera.

Yes, that comes from the remains of beer in the bottle it is standing in .

And no, I was not drunk when taking that picture
(though, I must say that normally I only get ideas to take such pictures when I am )

I'm going to keep this one short according to the denoted rules of this thread.

It does not matter when the photo was taken, as long as you only post ONE IMAGE PER DAY. You can add a picture everyday as long as it is different.

This being so! I find it more than just a tad bit hypocritical that someone posts five picks at the same time, of the same subject, in the same post, on the same day, and yes in this thread . And yet not one peep out of anyone condoning this action. What's even woarse is the person who started the assault and hijack of my thread posted two posts after this infraction and posted two pics of their own, of the same subject, also.

So I have a clear understanding now! Imaginary rules apply to "me" but perscribed rules can be ignored by everyone "else".

The attack on me had nothing to do with the fact that I started a thread about the D40. And I'm the one with the issues YEAH RIGHT!!!

How do the skin tones look? I am having trouble getting them to look natural, they either look too red or too yellow, any thoughts?

Funny I never called you a "hypocrite"... yet you decide it's appropriate to call me a "whiner" and "cry baby" oh you hurt my feelings so much. lmao

Don't act like a child just because your actions show you to be a biased hypocrite. You shouldn't have responded in the first place you just did a better job of proving my point than I ever could.

I just happened to point out your bias and unfairness and instead of owning up to your pettiness. You turn into a semblance of a sniveling twelve year old, who just doesn't know enough to own up and admitt they were wrong. And that their intentions from the begining were less than admirable.

I for one did not place any limitations on my thread unlike the starter of this thread. You seem to have this obsession with the amount of picks I post. Considering they don't infringe on the bandwidth of this site at all... and not like your the one paying the bill in the first place. I get your point! me posting pics upsets jcon so I shouln't do it to make him happy.

Hey, I'm with XaiLo here. This is called a "Picture of the Day" thread! That means a single picture, not a ream of them.

On the other hand, there's no reason in the world I'm aware of that one can't create a topic where he can post a half-dozen photos.

This is a simple problem, with a simple solution. Don't let personal differences hijack your reason.

(apologies if I, a newbie here, seem overtly authoritative, but I do moderate on another unrelated forum)
