What do you use as a Raw Processor?

it's been a while since i've used any other RAW converter but i prefered RIT and DPP over breezebrowser, acr, and rse. i may try out the latest lightroom update sometime.

Raw Shooter Premium 2006. I've downloaded the latest beta of lightroom and it's alright. I believe I'll just need to spend some time with it as is the reason with everything. By the way, RSP 06 is awsome.

lightroom is pretty cool, but seems pretty slow and gets stuck sometimes(and this is with a 3.2ghz p4 w/ 2 gigs of hardcore gaming pc3200 memory..BUT also have just an ordiany video card though). i don't really know of any others except DPP and the .DNG processor in cs2. i like how lightroom is set up, has collapsable menus so you can use full screen, so it's great if you only have one screen. as for the output i can't really tell you, my pics still seem to turn out better when using regular old jpeg editing. all i REALLY use it for is white balance at the moment. DPP is faster, you can make recipes to be applied to all, and it is also great for batch resizing for web. my 2 pennies.

Yea when I last tried the new lightroom beta i was running a dualcore AMD64@2.9Ghz (1mb cache x2) with 2gb DDR500, an 74gb raptors and it still ran slow and locked up sometimes..

I have since then upgraded to core2duo (running 3.2-3.5Ghz) I will haveto give it a try again and see if its still slow

I started out using the old version of EOS Viewer. I switched to RSE & Phase One C1 for a while. Seemed like RSE gave better results if underexposed. I went with DPP a couple of versions ago and still use it some. I've been using ACR since I upgraded to CS2 and am pretty happy with the results. It's tough to say what I'd use if they were free. I'd have to try some of the newer versions out to see, but possibly would go with Phase One.

Rich if money was not an issue I'd be trying out Aperture on my new Mac Pro - but Money is an issue so I very much enjoy using RSP 2006 but I'm liking lightroom so far . . . its a got a little was to go but I think they are going to have a very solid 1.0 release and It'll be free for me so I'm excited about that.

I might also try CaptureOne if price wasn't a factor. . .

Since I'm a cheapskate I decided to go "back" to DPP. I was using RSP2006 and it's a fine product but all this buying up of companies going on made me give the good ol' free from Canon product a go again. I'm liking it now that I actually know what RAW is about. There's a feature I really like to auto-reduce chrominance and luminance noise independently. While not adjustable via a slider, it has none/low/high settings and high does a fine job on all images without degrading sharpness too much, IMHO.

I have limitted knowlege of Aperature so far but I really like the way it is designed. One master raw image is store, you get to make several versions of the image which are just saved as modifying codes to the original that never changes. You work the entire time with the file in Raw format until you want to use it for a print or as a file at which time you export and convert it.

Used RawShooter Premium for quite some time but lately have switched to Adobe Lightroom beta 4 while awaiting the final release and my free copy.
